Anyone can find the dirt in someone. Be the person that finds the gold.

Anyone can find the dirt in someone.

Imperfection and ugly line our souls because

We are born of dust and to dust we shall return.

And dust is dirty

And messy.

I want to be a prospector who mines hearts and lives for gold.

I think that’s what Jesus did.

He quarried for gold in the lives of humans who weren’t perfect or who had it all together

And what He unearthed was glorious.

Beautiful treasures in hearts who were simply waiting for someone to

Bring the buds out into the open air to bloom.

Because anyone can find the dirt in someone

Anyone can see the grimy surface and judge it.

That’s easy to do.

But it takes someone else

To look past the dirt

In your life and mine

And to carve a tunnel to the stuff that

Glitters and shimmers.

It takes someone else

To look past the mistakes

And truly see with the eyes of love and compassion,

Not judgement.

I want to be one who sees the dirt but who chooses to look beyond it

To find the hidden, glistening beauty

Of the gold that lies buried.

I want to be the one who pulls it out

Holds it up to the light and watches it shine,

Redeemed and on show for all humanity to see.

Anyone can find the dirt in someone.

Be the person that finds the gold.

You might just find a fortune.
